Green Project with Kanada Karada & Spot On Wien
The theme of Tokyo Designers Week 2009 is glove greenh. You may interpret this theme as you like and expect to see plentiful expressions of green in Tokyo Designers Week and 100% Design Tokyo this year. Each exhibition of Tokyo Designers week are complemented by special projects relating the theme. See below for projects relating to 100% Design Tokyo.
Green Idea I – Iconic object by Brent Comber, Canada
At the entrance of Tokyo Designers Week 2009, an object, Serene, represents this year’s Love Green concept. Serene is designed and created by Brent Comber who is known for his sculptural furniture and objects made with cedar, fir and alder rescued from roadsides, construction sites, under power-transmission lines or forest under thinning operation. For Brent, it is important to use material with stories as such and turn them in to pieces that compel people to touch and engage with, which we believe is one of ways for people and nature to coexist together.
